Working in business comes with its own unique set of challenges.

As an entrepreneur, you are likely to come across three challenges:

  1. Firstly, how to increase sales and keep it consistent for the long term.
  2. Secondly, how to keep costs low.
  3. Thirdly, how to find interested customers quickly.

Thankfully, nestled inside Facebook’s ads platform lies a neat little feature called Facebook pixel.

This allows you to install a ‘cookie’ on the devices of visitors. You can ‘track’ them as they visit your other pages, and ‘retarget’ (more on that later) as they browse the web.

When used properly, ad spend decreases, reconnecting with past visitors is automated, and the return on investment (ROI) is easily measurable.

In fact, Amazon use a similar system to add billions of dollars in revenue to their business each year.

And when you combine Facebook Pixels with Sync2CRM, it blows your competitors out the water. We will delve into how Sync2CRM does this later in this post.

Before we leap into how Facebook pixels work, and the best use scenario, I will like to share a short story with you.

I have an entrepreneur friend who also happens to be a perfectionist. Claire plans the next day before going to sleep, and always manages to complete each task – no matter how demanding.

In fact, before launching her first online business, she owned a restaurant with a queue going around the block.

Initially, she poured a small fortune into Facebook ads, and spent many weeks reading confusing books. The story was always the same; people clicked on her ad, and a majority left (bounced).

Interestingly, much like Claire’s restaurant, her product was amazing.

If only her prospects knew that.

Claire was left scratching her head and even considered closing her online venture altogether. She was spending so much money but had little to show for it.

I introduced her to Facebook pixels, helped her set it up, and she described the change to her business as like a “padlock being cut”. The leads flooded in at low cost.

You see, there was nothing wrong with her targeting. Quite simply, prospects hadn’t been exposed to her brand before; and therefore, they were less likely to push the purchase button.

However, installing a Facebook pixel meant that she could ‘retarget’ people who had made it to her offer but taken no action. The next time prospects went on Facebook or visited a website part of Facebook’s “Audience Network”, they were ‘invited’ back to her offer.

Over time, cost per lead reduced, leaving her with more money and time to work on other parts of her business.

Can you already see how powerful this is?

  1. Facebook pixels allow you to create super-targeted ads to people interested in your brand. Therefore, You are able to measure which demographic is responding best and use it to improve future ads. As a result, your ROI is likely to skyrocket.

How to install a Facebook pixel

When one considers the potential of this technology, it is easy to think that installing a Facebook pixel on your site is going to be complicated.

If you can copy and paste, you are good to go!

  1. Firstly, you need to create the pixel. In order to do this, visit the Facebook pixel section in ads manager. Once there, click “Create a pixel”. Next give it a name. I suggest you name it after your business and the campaign (if applicable). Finally, read the terms and conditions, click “Create pixel” and voila!

     2) For the code to record visitors for retargeting and other purposes, you need to install it into your website.

In order to do this, we will be visiting the Facebook pixel section again. Secondly, click the “actions” button, then “view pixel code”, and finally copy the code and click “done”.

Next, you just need to copy and paste the code into the head section of your website. If your site runs on WordPress, you can access this section by clicking on appearance and clicking on “Editor”.

Just ensure that you paste the pixel code between the <head> and </head> section of your website.

The power of Facebook pixels

Once a Facebook pixel is installed, it records visitor actions and allows you to create custom audiences. Custom audiences will be covered in a separate blog post. Additionally, as your business grows, you can hand the pixel to a team member/freelancer in order to create ultra-targeted campaigns on your behalf. Consequently, you are able to free up some time to work on other parts of your business, i.e. the next product launch.

Do you remember when I said that using Facebook pixels will blow your competitors out the water. I lied. Actually, it is an ‘unfair’ advantage.

You will be able to:

  1. Reduce advertising spend,
  2. Automate your advertising.
  3. Launch your products/services to people you KNOW are interested.

On the other hand, your competitors will be left wondering why:

  1. Their ads are so expensive that it is like throwing a bag of money into a lake.
  2. They spend so much time ‘babysitting’ their campaigns.
  3. They shoot bullets in the dark with their ads hoping that it will hit a prospect.

While they pull their hair out, you will have time to launch your next big idea.

Sync2CRM was created to ensure that advertisers meet targets.

Sync2CRM was born out of having a crazy idea to ‘marry’ leads generating through Facebook ads with Infusionsoft. After much development, coffee-fueled late nights, and a developer who was just as passionate as I was, Sync2CRM was born.

Leads generated on Facebook are automatically synced with Infusionsoft in order to push prospects through the buying journey. Moreover, any contacts on your Infusionsoft account are automatically converted into ‘Custom Audiences’ inside Facebook; thereby, saving you time and money. As a result, the growth of your business is accelerated, and you have less to worry about.
