Our primary authentication method is something called oAuth. This is something Infusionsoft has only rolled out recently. Sadly, it is not as reliable as we would like. So we use the legacy authentication method of an API key as a fallback when oAuth fails. Because oAuth still fails fairly regularly, this is the best way for us to make sure your data syncs reliably.
